QUALIFIED ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE CERTIFICATES MANAGEMENT REACTIVATING SUSPENDED CERTIFICATE

INFONOTARY reactivates a suspended certificate when:

  • The maximum suspension period expires (48 hours);
  • The reasons for suspending the certificate are overcome;
  • At the request of the Holder and after the Provider has informed him about the suspension and the objective considerations that have produced it, as well as the fact that the reactivation request is filed in consequence of the notification.

From the moment the Provider reactivates the certificate, it is regarded as valid.



Procedure for requesting reactivation

1. Reactivation at the request of the Holder.

When the reactivation of the suspended electronic signature certificate is effected on the request of the Holder, the application control check-up and the authentication of the Holders identity are performed by the Registration authority.

The Registration authority verifies the identity of the Holder when he/she has filed personally or through a qualified representative signed reactivation request.

To request reactivation of the suspended certificate the Holder or his qualified have to provide to the Registration authority the following official documents:

  • Valid identity document: personal identity card or personal passport;
  • Notarized Power of attorney by the accredited representative authorizing him/her to stand proxy for the Holder before the Provider for all the actions related to the issuing and management of the certificate;
  • Signed Request for reactivation of the certificate and a declaration that the Holder was duly notified of the reason for suspending and that his/hers request for reactivation is in consequence of that notification.

After the Registration authority receives and examines the reactivation request and verifies it corresponds to the requirements the, Cerification authority of the Provider removes the suspended certificate from the Certificate suspension and revocation list and publishes it.

2. Reactivation after the suspension time period of 48 hours has expired

After the specified maximum suspension period of 48 hours expires, the Certification authority of the Provider automatically reactivates the operation validity of the electronic signature certificate and removes it from the Certificate suspension and revocation list.
